Marble Halls is a single by the Irish singer and musician Enya , released as the fourth excerpt from the album Shepherd Moons in 1994 , so 3 years after its release, as the song was used in the soundtrack of the film The Age of innocence .
It is Enya’s interpretation of the aria I Dreamt I Dwelt in Marble Halls composed by Michael William Balfe (music) and Alfred Bunn (text) for the 1843 opera entitled The Bohemian girl . This version of the piece was included in the soundtrack of Martin Scorsese ‘s film released in 1993 entitled The Age of Innocence . It is also present in an old episode of Laurel and Hardy, the Bohemian girl.
