Job Description

Black History and Lifestyle Organisation is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to giving honorary recognitions, celebration, and amplifying history of pasts and present individuals who have impacted the world with their activism, talents and achievements.

Job Summary:

The Business Development Officer will identify and pursue new funding opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and develop innovative business models to support the organization’s growth and impact.

Location: Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria

Reports to: Executive Director

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve organizational goals.

2. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities from corporations, foundations, governments, and individual donors.

3. Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential partners, stakeholders, and donors.

4. Research and analyze market trends, competitor landscape, and donor priorities.

5. Develop and submit high-quality proposals, reports, and other materials to secure funding.

6. Collaborate with program teams to design and develop new programs and services.

7. Develop and manage budgets, financial projections, and business plans.

8. Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and other external events.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, International Development, or related field.

2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or sales.

3. Proven track record of securing funding from diverse sources.

4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

7. Familiarity with NGO operations, grant writing, and donor requirements.

Salary range: #300,000 – #400,000
