Our client, a leading Digital media firm in Africa’s digital economy, is seeking a Senior Consultant II to help drive strategy, business growth, and client project delivery. This managerial role will be instrumental in transitioning the unit into a top-tier digital economy consultancy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management consulting, strategic planning, and business development.

Role Overview

Our company tells the African stories that matter to Africans and to global audiences. Riding a wave of global distribution platforms seeking new stories and high-quality local content, and with audiences consuming ever more content, we are building an exciting new media enterprise. We create content in a wide range of formats for global distribution across multiple platforms.

We capture the players, human impact, and business of technology in Africa, providing the content, reporting, data, and events that help the world understand where tech is taking the continent. Our intelligence and research unit provides data and insights to guide all stakeholders invested in realizing African prosperity. Our thesis is that Africa’s digital economy offers perhaps the most viable path to prosperity for the continent. We help DFIs, NGOs, governments, global tech brands, and African startups to understand and solve critical digital economy challenges through reports, events, and custom research.

This role will report to the Head of our insights unit while working closely with our Head of Partnerships and CEO. The Senior Consultant II role is managerial and will take a front seat in transitioning the unit to a leading digital economy consultancy, while also shaping the future of our company. You will drive the growth of the unit by co-creating its strategy for the next five years and co-implementing it. Additionally, you will support the delivery of our client projects to ensure they meet and exceed expectations.

📍 Location: Hybrid – Surulere, Lagos (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

💰 Salary: ₦1,000,000 – ₦1,500,000

About the Role

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• At least 5 years of management consulting experience at a top consulting firm; Big Three consultancy experience is an added bonus.
• Experience designing and implementing strategic plans for internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to create comprehensive proposals from start to finish.
• An advanced degree is an advantage but not required.
• A strong sense of curiosity.
• Excellent public speaking skills.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-design and drive the growth strategy for the unit.
• Support the delivery of client projects to ensure they meet the highest standards.
• Drive the growth of our strategy service offering for startups and big tech companies.
• Provide project management and relationship management support for high-value clients.
• Identify potential business opportunities and collaborate with the team lead and business development team to develop tailored proposals.
• Pursue thought leadership and public speaking opportunities to enhance business visibility.
• Forge partnerships that will grow the unit’s visibility and future revenue streams.
• Contribute to transitioning the unit into a leading digital economy consultancy by optimizing current processes and developing best practices.
• Offer support to the team lead and management team wherever possible.
