Debour Nigeria Ltd is a company based in Ikeja, specializing in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, H.V.A.C Services, and Design and Maintenance of various engineering works. Our services include the installation of boreholes, sewage treatment plants, transformers, street lights, plumbing, industrial refrigeration, welding, fabrication, and more.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Engineer at Debour Nigeria Limited. The role involves designs and development of new products, improving existing products, conducting tests and simulations, and supervising the production and implementation of mechanical systems. You will work closely with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure that the designs are cost-effective, safe, and perform well.

Responsibilities:

  • MEP System Planning and Detailing: Prepare plans, shop drawings, detailed designs, specifications, and cost estimates for MEP systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.
  • Project Supervision and Implementation: Oversee the planning, supervision, and execution of mechanical engineering tasks on-site, ensuring compliance with designs and specifications.
  • Site Supervision and Reporting: Conduct on-site inspections, supervise installation, and maintain accurate technical reports for internal and client reference. Prepare tender documents and relevant project documentation.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and other team members to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Problem Analysis and Resolution: Analyze mechanical engineering challenges, develop practical solutions, and ensure efficient troubleshooting processes.
  • Prototype Development: Design and develop working prototypes for testing and customer demonstrations, supporting innovation and quality assurance.
  • Mechanical Equipment Oversight: Ensure the proper installation, test-running, and maintenance of all mechanical equipment and facilities, maintaining control over related activities.
  • Timeline and Budget Adherence: Track project milestones to ensure timely completion and budget compliance, adjusting as necessary to manage risks effectively.
  • Client and Consultant Relations: Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and consultants, addressing concerns and providing technical insights to support project success.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years work experience in building services.
  • HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional certification in engineering is a plus
  • Proficient in the use of CAD and other design software.
  • Excellent communication skills – written & verbal.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Good troubleshooting skills & attention to detail.
  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems.
  • Ensure designs meet legal guidelines and safety requirements.
