We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Buyer to join our team at LED Pumps in Bronkhorst Spruit. This role is pivotal in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring high-quality supplies for our borehole supply, installation, and maintenance operations. The Buyer will play a key role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly by maintaining strong supplier relationships and managing inventory effectively. This position requires extensive technical knowledge in borehole systems and water pump solutions, coupled with strong purchasing and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and purchase borehole pumps, parts, and related equipment that meet technical and quality standards.
• Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure availability of necessary supplies while avoiding excess inventory.
• Technical Evaluation: Assess suppliers’ products based on detailed technical specifications and their applicability to borehole systems.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct regular cost reviews and implement strategies to reduce procurement expenses without compromising quality.
• Market Research: Continuously research market trends and technological advancements in the borehole and water pump industry to inform purchasing decisions.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with installation and maintenance teams to understand their supply needs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, supplier agreements, and delivery schedules.
• Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant South African regulations governing water systems.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a purchasing role within the borehole, water pump, or related industry.
• Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of borehole systems, submersible pumps, and water supply systems.
• Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favourable terms and conditions with suppliers.
• Attention to Detail: Strong ability to evaluate products and suppliers against precise technical specifications and requirements.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective liaison with suppliers and internal teams.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to think critically and resolve procurement challenges efficiently.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with procurement software or tools to manage purchasing processes and maintain accurate records.
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management are advantageous.
