Job Description

Job Overview:

Conduct the daily process inspections and quality assurance in the process

to ensure product and process activities meet determined specifications with an overall aim of

ensuring the Quality Management System is maintained and improved. This will include

carrying out of quality assurance activities, quality control measures, quality internal audits

and continuous improvement projects. The technician will be “hands on” and largely engaged

with production process to ensure that customer expectation and product specifications are

met. This role requires excellent problem solving, communication, computer skills and report

writing skills.

Key Responsibilities.

• Develop, implement and maintain overall quality management processes including SOPs,

documentation, controls and reporting

• Work with company’s suppliers to ensure Quality specifications for production inputs are

met and conducts quality checks for raw materials received on site.

• Conduct and document internal Quality audits

• Maintain Quality Management equipment in the laboratory

• Investigate customer complaints and other reported quality issues

• Timely closure of External and Internal Complaints

• Analyse data to identify areas for improvement

• Understands the production workflow, conducts and documents quality checks for process

and finished products.

• Perform inspections, tests, and measurements on products or services to ensure that they

meet the required quality specifications.

• Establishes priority of work for material inspection (Works with scheduling and production

to establish priorities of work for material inspection)

• Checks, analyses daily quality control reports of the previous night work and activity

reports.

• Spot checks work being produced in the pre-press room, printing and finishing.

• Follows through on jobs in plant which may need special handling, and which have special

standards and specifications.

• Analyses press problems, stock problems, inks and chemicals, etc, to assist personnel in

reaching prescribed quality standards.

• Notifies immediate manager in the event of deviation from Quality standard.

• Ensure that CCP monitoring procedure is adhered to.

• Be part of root cause and problem solving in the process.

• Implement applicable corrective and preventative actions when deviations are noted.

• Ensure that GMP practices are adhered to.

• Cleaning and sanitation procedures are adhered to, Sanitation checklist is completed

• Provides training to team members, as required, for implementing quality initiatives.

• To carry out any duties as may be required by the Management from time to time

Key Skills

• Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills,

and proven ability to drive change and obtain results

• Excellent computer skills

• Good working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures

• Thorough knowledge of applicable domestic and international regulatory regulations and

standards is required.

• Good management skills: able to address critical issues and escalate problems

Education & Experience

• Diploma in analytical chemistry or related science-based course.

• Conversant with quality management systems.

• 3 years’ experience in a Flexographic and Lithographic printing company.

• Ability to use and work with various laboratory tools and items.
