Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Presenter/Producer who will play a key role in reporting news and current affairs programs to our audience. This role requires someone who can conduct in-depth research, present stories in the most engaging and informative way to our audience, and be well-informed on national issues.
RESPONSIBILITY
i. Deliver news and current affairs programs engagingly, and professionally.
ii. Conduct critical live or pre-recorded interviews with guests, subject-matter experts, and officials, asking insightful questions and facilitating discussions.
iii. Research, write, and edit show scripts.
iv. Plan and produce segments for shows, ensuring that topics are timely, relevant, and engaging.
v. Ensure accuracy and impartiality of news content by verifying facts and maintaining ethical standards.
vi. Ensure the selection of quality guests for shows, and smooth technical execution during live broadcast.
vii. Work with tight deadlines while maintaining the highest editorial standards
viii. Adhere to editorial policies, broadcasting laws, and copyright laws and maintain professionalism during broadcasts.
OUR PREFERRED CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING;
I. Ability to communicate and engage the audience while maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.
II. Experience in reporting news and current affairs programs
III. Demonstrate balanced and impartial judgment in making appropriate editorial decisions
IV. Flexibility, resilience, and adaptability to sustain performance under tight deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
● Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
● Proven experience (4+ years) in radio presenting and production
● Strong presentation skills and on-air personality
● Strong editorial judgment
