We are recruiting for a Transport Officer
The Transport Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating the company’s transportation operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations. This role involves overseeing fleet maintenance, optimizing routes, supervising drivers, and maintaining accurate transport records to support smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the daily transportation and logistics operations.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and meet all safety and compliance requirements.
- Monitor fuel usage, vehicle expenses, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Optimize delivery and transportation routes to improve efficiency and reduce delays.
- Supervise drivers, assign duties, and ensure adherence to company policies and road safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate transport records, including vehicle logs, maintenance schedules, and trip reports.
- Handle transportation-related issues, such as breakdowns, accidents, and delays, ensuring quick resolution.
- Ensure compliance with government transportation laws, permits, and insurance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve transport operations.
- Provide reports and recommendations to management for operational improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation coordination.
- Strong knowledge of transportation laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to supervise and manage drivers and transport staff effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
