We are recruiting to fill the position of an Early Childhood Educator

Grade: Level 2

Job summary

We are looking for a passionate early education professional with expertise in daycare, pre-nursery and nursery school environments. Proven ability to create a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere for young learners. Skilled in designing age-appropriate activities, fostering social and cognitive development, and maintaining a safe, inclusive space. Committed to providing quality care and fostering a love for learning.

Responsibilities

Developing and producing safe and stimulating learning activities based on educational frameworks.
Recognizing and responding to the diverse needs of each child, adapting teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
Developing children’s curiosity and knowledge through engaging and fun activities.
Working with others, including teaching assistants and school administrators to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors.
Observing, assessing and recording each child’s progress.
Motivating and stimulating children’s learning abilities, often encouraging learning through experience.
Establishing and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing behaviour, promoting social skills, and addressing any conflicts that may arise among the learners.
Ensuring that the health and safety of children is maintained during all activities (within and outside the school).
Keeping up to date with changes in the curriculum and best practices in early childhood education through ongoing professional development. Attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills.

Qualification & experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with a focus on early childhood education or related field.
Registered and licensed by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Minimum of three years working experience in Early years with a good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
Jolly Phonics Certification.
High proficiency in English Language; speaking, writing, reading and listening.
Good knowledge of the Nelson Handwriting style.
Tech-Savvy- Good proficiency in using educational tools and resources and other technological tools like Microsoft Word , Excel, PowerPoint and Canva.
Strong classroom management, and collaboration skills.
Good observational and organisational skills
Attention to detail.
Ability to think outside the box.
Innovative and creative.
