Job Description
MiningPro is an engineering and construction services provider in Ghana and West Africa with specialties in metallurgy, studies, engineering, construction and projects.
MiningPro is seeking qualified and experienced personnel to be part of our dedicated team as a Senior Design Draughtsman. The role is responsible for delivery of process and mining modular plant and equipment designs for various projects in accordance with standards, policies and procedures to meet the company, client and projects requirements.
Industry Experience and Knowledge
1. Strong focus on site Safely, Health and Environment and adherence to site policies and procedures is essential.
2. Strong 3D modelling, layout and detailed engineering designs as well as quantity estimating for process and mining operations
3. Strong exposure to site installation and a workshop fabrication of structural, mechanical, plateworks and piping.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Producing 3D models to fully populate SMPP designs for mining and process modular plant.
2. Developing General Arrangement (GA), shop drawings, and plant layout drawings of the proposed installation (plan, elevation and isometric).
3. Coordinating design reviews and checking conformance (internal and external) of drawings for plant layout and detailed engineering design.
4. Developing material take-offs and preparing bill of quantities.
5. Providing design information to section leader for inter-disciplinary interface.
4. Assisting and guiding entry designers or junior draughtsmen by providing training and development.
Key Performance Indicators
1. Design, draft and direct of 3D modelling, GA and detailed engineering designs including workshop drawings for all related projects.
2. Perform site visits, site checks and data gathering, fabrication and installation supervisions as well as commissioning during implementation of projects.
Qualification Requirements
1. Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology & Management.
2. Professional Engineer Registered or MINCOM License Certified.
3. At least 8 years of experience in mechanical design and drafting (structural steel and platework) within a design and construction environment in the Mining and/or EPCM Industries.
4. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role on mining and mineral processing projects.
5. Must have experience in plant design and construction as well as excellent attention to details.
6. Must have advanced Autodesk software experience and in-depth knowledge of relevant detailing or drafting CAD software.
